Services & Pricing
Prices are broken down according to weight, coat condition, pet behavior, and what you as an owner would like done.

Every groom includes a nail trim, ear plucking/cleaning, coat brushed/combed, external anal gland expression, sanitary, pad assessment, a double bath & hand dried coat. I use products suited to your pets coat type to ensure the best results possible. However, because I cannot assess coat condition or pet behavior until I've worked with your dog, please be aware that these are merely estimates, and are subject to change upon evaluation of the above conditions.

Flea and tick baths are mandatory on any pet where these parasites are discovered. I appreciate your cooperation in these matters, and as always I reserve the right to deny service if an agreement cannot be reached.

When describing the cut you would like, please note the length you would like to remain on the pet, not that which you would like removed.

Special Cuts:

Shaved feet (Poodle-feet) are $15 more an any breed other than a pure-bred poodle.

Carding (removing shedding coat) is typically between $30-$50 more than the high end of keeping the coat for that weight.

Cocker Spaniels: Breed specific grooming is typically between $50 and $65, or between $55-$65 when the length is removed from the skirt/legs in addition to the back.

Matted Hair: Pets with excessively matted hair will have to be stripped! This is known as a force strip because there are no other options as to what can be done. Brushing these pets out is painful and unfair. It makes them skittish of grooming equipment and untrusting of the groomer. De-matting is certainly something that can be done, but only on pets whose coats are not matted to the point that doing so would hurt the animal. For reasonable amounts of matted hair, dematting will be done for an additional fee.

Grooming Terminology

When you are receiving a cut, please stay away from terms such as puppy cut and teddy bear cut because they can mean so many things and they are imprecise as to the length you want on your pet. If you use them none-the-less, please see the list for the details on what I'll need to know. The following is a list of accepted terminology in grooming, and hopefully it will help you explain what you desire in terms that will be easily understood!

Teddy Bear Head: this simply means that you want as round a head as possible.

Teddy Bear Feet: this means you want the feet to be the same length as the body. They are rounded with curved shears.

Kennel Cut: this means you want the same length all over and is the typical summer "shave" #7 (blade lengths below).

Strip: same as kennel cut.

All over: This means the body & legs are all one length, the head and tail are always asked about separately so if you want them included, just say head, ears, and tail included.

Lamb Cut: short body with fuller legs (blended).

Puppy Cut: If you use this term, it refers either to leaving the dog as it is and only trimming feet, face and sanitary areas, or to leaving one or more inches of hair all over. This term always requires further explanation.

Teddy Bear Cut: If you use this term, it means the cut will be one length throughout the entire body. The length must be specified.

Full Groom: this is a breed-specific groom.

Crown: this refers to the tuft of hair above the dog's eyes (primarily on Cocker Spaniels).

Clean Face: a shaved face (Poodle).

Clean Feet: shaved feet (Poodle).

Modified Groom: this refers to when an owner applies one breeds natural pattern or clip to another breed.

Blending: working shorter areas into longer areas as not to leave a definite line.

Blown Coat: shedding coat

Broken Coat: a harsh or uneven coat - this coat refuses to lay flat.

Carding: raking out extra unwanted undercoat.

Jacket: top coat on the body.

Furnishings: longer hair on the legs, head, underbody/ skirt

Tidy Up: removing long stray hairs to give the dog a more even outline

Tighten: making hair appear closer to the body by means of scissor or clipper work

Pull Up: make furnishings shorter by means of scissors.

Thin: make coat appear flatter (de-fluff a little)

Stop: the area where a dogs eyes meet by the bridge of his nose.

Rough In: initial brushing/combing, nails clipped, ears plucked & cleaned... basically this it prepping the dog for a bath.

Truth Run: combing after brushing to ensure there are no mats or tangles.

Feathering: hair on the ears, tail, legs, and stomach that resemble feathers. (Hair that hangs downward)

Leather: the actual ear
